The spa area of Cota 1400 Hotel in Sinaia was designed as a complete sensory experience, inspired by the atmosphere of the mountains and the idea of a contemporary, warm and relaxing retreat. The design aims to disconnect guests from the rhythm of everyday life and create a sense of calm through natural materials, layered lighting and tactile textures, all expressed in a refined and elegant architectural language.

The material palette is dominated by natural wood in warm tones, textured stone surfaces and mineral finishes with an organic appearance. In the sauna area, the combination of wooden cladding and illuminated stone compositions creates an intimate and authentic atmosphere, evoking the direct relationship with nature and the surrounding mountain landscape. The surfaces are treated in a minimalist manner, with discreetly integrated details and ambient lighting that highlights the depth and richness of the materials.

The relaxation areas and circulation spaces follow a soft luxury aesthetic, where natural textures are complemented by elegant satin metal accents, green marble, wooden slatted surfaces and handcrafted-looking decorative finishes. Organic-shaped furniture, soft fabrics and integrated greenery contribute to a calm and welcoming atmosphere, specific to a contemporary mountain retreat.

Lighting plays a fundamental role throughout the entire project. The lighting concept is based mainly on indirect and diffused warm light, layered to enhance the textures and create a soothing ambiance. Decorative illuminated ceilings, sculptural light fixtures and integrated lighting details within the furniture and wall elements transform the space into an immersive and elegant experience.

The swimming pool area, located in the basement and lacking natural daylight, was carefully designed to eliminate the feeling of an enclosed underground space. In order to recreate the connection with nature and reinforce the mountain identity of the hotel, backlit printed Barrisol surfaces featuring forest and mountain imagery were introduced. These elements act as artificial windows towards nature, simulating the presence of daylight and opening the space visually. The resulting atmosphere is calm and contemplative, where water reflections, filtered light and misty forest imagery create the sensation of a wellness experience immersed in nature.

The overall design constantly balances contemporary elegance with organic warmth, sophistication with natural authenticity. The entire spa was conceived as a place for regeneration and reconnection, where materials, light and textures come together to create a coherent wellness experience tailored to a premium mountain hotel destination.
